DAILY SPIRITUAL NUGGETS: 31 Days of Celebrating Light – Day 17 “The Order and Balance of the Light”

DAILY SPIRITUAL NUGGETS:  31 Days of Celebrating Light – Day 17  “The Order and Balance of the Light”

Meditative Thought:  When I was a child, I always wondered how God kept all things straight and in working order.  My mother would say, “God is in control son, leave it alone.”  As I grew older, I needed to create a visual of God, and how he operated.  I often thought of the wizard in “The Wizard of Oz” behind the curtain pushing and pulling levers to create a world that only God could possibly control.  The only trouble was, Dorothy and her friends always caught the fake wizard.  Like the old man, my version of God would sometimes get it wrong.  There would be an earthquake, a flood, a death, or a major disappointment in my life, and I would think that God got it wrong.  After years of spiritual study, prayer and meditation, I realized that order and balance is not something that God does, it is what God is.  There is a difference between expecting God to do the “right” thing, and recognizing that there is only good in the Light.

Spiritual Assignment:  Today, allow your awareness to be open to the true nature of God.  Pray to have a deep understanding of the One Mind.  Be willing to see the Light for what it is, not what it does.

Affirmation:  Just for this moment…just for this breath, my life is the expression of good that is always flowing.  Amen.
